IPL 2016 - Auctions: Jharkhand

The final list for the player auctions for 2016 season of IPL is out. It was disappointing to see that in spite of a good run across the three formats, very Jharkhand players made it into the auctions list. Following are the players in the running for an IPL slot.
  1. Ishank Jaggi
  2. Virat Singh
  3. Ishan Kishan
  4. Jaskaran Singh
  5. Rahul Shukla
All of them are at the lowest base price of Rs. 10 Lakh each. Being the India Under-19 captain, Ishan Kishan's chances are the brightest to join the likes of Dhoni, Tiwary, Aaron and Nadeem in the IPL roster. Lets see which of the franchisees picks up these players.

Meanwhile in the Deodhar Trophy, Nadeem was the only Jharkhand representative. Playing only in the final for India A, he scored 2* and picked 3 for 36.

The Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy was also a good audition ground for the IPL Auctions. However there weren’t too many stand-out individual performances from the Jharkhand squad. It is likely to be a similar representation this year with the likes of Aaron, Tiwary and Nadeem featuring in the various squads. There is a fair chance for the likes of Shukla, Jaggi, Virat Singh and Rathour as well. Lets see what the auctions have in store.

Coming Up Next: Ranji Trophy Quarter-Finals against 40 times champions Mumbai in February.

But before that we have the Deodhar Trophy where Nadeem and Aaron will be representing India A.

Arbit Stats #48: 1009 Not Out

1009 - That is the number of runs scored by young Pranav Dhanawade in an inter-school tournament in Mumbai.
This is the now the highest individual score in any form of cricket records breaking AEJ Collins' 628 not out for Clark’s House against North Town in Clifton College scored in 1899.  The runs certainly came at a quick pace of just 323 balls laced with 129 fours and 59 sixes. truly mind-boggling numbers.

Hopefully it is just the start of an amazing cricketing journey for this young talent.
